Today I want to share something with you that is close to my heart, the Wings Oklahoma Non-profit Organization.

“Wings exists to enhance the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through social, vocational and residential programs guided by principles of the Bible. This mission is executed through two main branches: Wings Programs and Wings Enterprises. Both work cohesively to support and benefit the other.”

I learned about Wings after joining the Edmond Women’s Club in 2019. I volunteered for Wings’ Fall Festival that year and was in awe of all the work they are doing for adults with special needs.
They offer programs that include “volunteer and vocational training, art production, bible study and life skills training, as well as cooking classes and other independence training.”
Wings allows these adults to learn the tools they need to be independent and to thrive in their community. They teach them valuable skills and help them to volunteer. It’s an incredible organization.
The reason I am sharing about Wings today is that it is time for their annual Fall Festival. It is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00a – 6:00p, and on Sundays from 1:00p – 6:00p until October 18th. The Admission is $6 and children under 2 years old are free. All proceeds benefit WINGS Program.

The Wings Fall Festival features: Pony Rides, Corn Maze, Hay Ride, Pumpkin Train, Petting Zoo, Lawn Games, Food Trucks, and the WINGS Pumpkin Patch.

It’s so important to help our neighbors and the Fall Festival is a way to have fun with your friends and family AND contribute to a great local organization.

Visit Wings’ website here to learn more about their event. You can also find more information on their website about volunteering, their event center as well as how you can donate to the cause.
